We’ve been in Ghana for two days

We’ve been in Ghana for two days now but it feels like an eternity since we left the Sacramento Airport. I didn’t really know what to expect in terms of what the city would look like or what the people would be like but my experiences so far have been extremely positive. Everyone seems so friendly and willing to help and the city itself is far more modernized and developed than I had expected. The heat is pretty sweltering and I have felt extremely tired for almost all of the trip; however my excitement at being in this new place has so far been able to overcome those negative feelings. Today we took a bus tour of Accra and the city itself is so fascinating! There are men and women walking around with huge baskets balanced on their heads and everywhere we go someone is trying to sell us something. But although many of the people here have much less than we do in America, they remain so positive and friendly and they are always in high spirits. More than anything, I hope to learn from this mindset that seems to embody the country.
